The Illusionist Review

Nicely done.......The Illusionist
When I first saw Belleville Rendez-vous, I was very young. The mobsters and the ugly bodies of the characters scared me, as most things did. The Illusionist was to me, visually amazing. How someone can paint all that I do not know. It seems similar to the Nick Park's Wallace & Gromit technique. The plot is very light and warm, it stars a magican (a French illusionist) who travels to Britain to act. He travels to Scotland and meets a female companion, a worker at a pub. Together they set off to Edinburgh with their small rabbit in tow. There life takes a turn for the worst and slowly things go from up to downhill. I, myself have visited Edinburgh many times and they got the city, picture perfect. I would highly recommend it and look out for Billy Boy and the Britoons.

5/5
