Firework - Single
First of all, congratulations to newly-wed couple Russell and Katy. This new slowed down track was like many of her songs, really hard to adjust to. The beginning is, "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind wanting to start again?" It sounds so poorly written that it sounds like something someone sitting down in their kitchen and thinking, "lyrics, hum?" Then someone walks in with a plastic bag and saying, 'dinner's soon.' Hurriedly they note it down and begin more. It gets better with, 'baby, you're a fire---work!" I love it. It's not as ho hum as Teenage Dreams or as cheeky a bubbly as California Gurls. You'll be humming it next week this is a sure hit. Though on the charts she is behind Take That, Rihanna, Cheryl Cole and Black Eyed Peas! Even Katy and Russ themselves say, "this is their all-time favorite song ever of her album!"
